A limited-edition Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon "Spider-Man" watch from Haute Horlogerie specialist Audemars Piguet follows its highly sought-after "Black Panther" timepiece.

The agreement in 2021 marked the start of a new era for the company and exemplifies its innovative approach to the traditional skill of watchmaking. The two organizations now pay homage to "the friendly neighborhood hero," who made his comic book debut in 1962, using horological ingenuity. With only 250 pieces available, the timepiece bridges the gap between high watchmaking and popular culture by adding a fun element to the famous Royal Oak Concept design.

The brand's latest hand-wound caliber 2974, which comes in a 42mm case made of titanium and black ceramic, is a demonstration of Audemars Piguet's careful craftsmanship. The movement's simple yet intricate design reaches a level of transparency that makes Spider-Man's persona seem floating in the air when viewed in 3D. In order to do this, the character's silhouette is first carved out of a block of white gold, and his suit is then laser-engraved to give it a distinctive texture and textile-like appearance.

The last touches are then added by hand, like the instantly recognizable two-tone outfit that has been handpainted in metallic blue and matte red. Arabic numerals finished with a white luminosity that turns blue in the dark alternate with blackened gold hour markers on the dial. A black and gray rubber strap with an AP buckle and a second black and red rubber strap to reference the Super Hero's outfit are both included with the Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon "Spider-Man" to provide the utmost in customisation.

The unique "Black Suit Spider-Man" Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon that comes with this limited-edition watch was created in response to the character's alteration in attire. The white gold case is embellished with an intricate laser-engraved webbed background and a spider leg pattern filled with glowing hybrid ceramic. The watch has a titanium and ceramic caseback with the words "Royal Oak Concept Unique Piece" printed in white. It has a black ceramic bezel. The watch comes with two straps: a second black calfskin leather band with a textile impression and white stitching, and a sleek black interchangeable rubber strap with a velvety touch.

Peter Parker's maxim, "With great power comes great responsibility," serves as the cornerstone of the Marvel partnership because it is Spider-Man's community values that connect with the brand. Similar to the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon "Black Panther," this one-of-a-kind artwork was auctioned off, collecting over $6.2 million USD for First Book and Ashoka, non-profit organizations that support underprivileged young people in their efforts to improve their communities around the globe. Its 2021 predecessor raised $5.2M USD and has since connected with a network of 25,000 First Book educators who serve about 750,000 students in the USA.
